Visit with Grandma and Papa

I've been way behind on posting Emily's adventures lately--the end of the year is always our busiest time at work, and this year has been even more so. I've been working late almost every night after Emily goes to bed, which means I've fallen behind on some of the things I'd rather be doing this time of year.

We just signed a new contract with Mission Hospital in Asheville, which is about 30 miles from my parents' house. Last week, I needed to be at the hospital for part of the day Wednesday and Thursday, so I took advantage of the trip and took Emily with me. We got to Grandma and Papa's around 10:30 Wednesday morning, and I left shortly after that to head to Asheville. Emily was excited the whole trip, and when we pulled up in the driveway, she squealed "Grandma's house!"

She certainly seemed to have a great time, playing with some of the same toys I played with 30 years ago!

She also enjoyed taking a walk down the mountain and throwing rocks in this creek across from their house.

Then she took a turn on the piano and organ with Papa.

As usual, Grandma was taking the pictures, so she didn't end up in any of them!

We headed home Thursday afternoon, and will hopefully be able to plan more of these quick visits in the future!
